Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg highlighted the diverse nature of the projects, with approximately half serving rural areas and half urban areas. The funding distribution includes 57% for roadways, 22% for bike and pedestrian paths, and the remainder for transit, rail, and aviation projects.
